THE LA TANIA GONDOLA GETS AN UPGRADE
This winter, the La Tania gondola is being upgraded to offer greater comfort for skiers and visitors. Located on the snow front, this key Courchevel lift carries almost 400,000 people every winter.
First opened in 1990, it is entering a new phase of modernisation to provide a more comfortable, smoother experience that better meets today’s expectations.
52 new 8-seater Poma cabins are replacing the old ones.
They feature panoramic views, comfortable seating, wider doors and storage for skis and snowboards.
The stations and technical equipment are also being modernised to improve the reliability and safety of the lift.

THE RHODOS GONDOLA COMPLETES ITS RENOVATION
The renovation of the Rhodos gondola is entering its final phase with work on the top station, completing the transformation of this important lift within the ski area.
Following upgrades to the bottom station, mid-station, machinery and cabins, this latest phase includes:
The façades, platforms, garage and control room.
The creation of new toilet facilities.
The creation of a dedicated area for ski schools.
The aim: to offer visitors greater comfort, improve on-site services and enhance safety for operations and maintenance teams.

THE PLATTIÈRES GONDOLA GETS AN ARTISTIC MAKEOVER
The Plattières gondola is being reimagined with an original artistic concept created in collaboration with Lucas Beaufort.
Known for his graphic universe inspired by surfing, the mountains and board sports, the artist has created a new design.
It pays tribute to the former gondola, whose personalised cabins left a lasting impression.
Some cabins are transformed into genuine works of visual art.
The journey itself becomes an experience in its own right.
This artistic concept brings a creative, contemporary dimension to the lift, in the heart of Les 3 Vallées.

THE CHÂTELET HIGH-SPEED CHAIRLIFT RETURNS TO SERVICE
For winter 2026-2027, the Châtelet high-speed chairlift is returning to service.
Linking the bottom of the snowpark directly to the top, it allows skiers to access the different features more easily and complete run after run without having to ski back down to the snow front.

THE BIOLLEY 2 MAGIC CARPET GETS AN UPGRADE
In Saint-Martin-de-Belleville, the children’s ski area is welcoming a new magic carpet to make it easier for young skiers to get around.
This more modern lift allows them to reach the slope comfortably and get to grips with skiing in a safe environment suited to their progression.
Brides-les-Bains
BRIDES-LES-BAINS: EARLIER OPENING FROM 5 DECEMBER
For the first time, Brides-les-Bains will open one week earlier, from 5 December 2026.
Its opening date is now aligned with Méribel, allowing guests to enjoy Les 3 Vallées ski area from the very start of the season. Thanks to the L'Olympe gondola, skiers can access the ski area directly from Brides-les-Bains.
MODERNISATION & TECHNICAL IMPROVEMENTS

From winter 2026-2027, the summit of Les Chenus will feature a new 300 m² wooden panoramic terrace, accessible to both skiers and pedestrians. Designed as a true mountain relaxation area, this new space will offer the perfect place to take time to enjoy the scenery, meet up with friends or simply sit back for a few moments facing the peaks.
South-facing and overlooking Saulire, the terrace will benefit from plenty of sunshine and uninterrupted views of the surrounding peaks. Carefully selected furniture and a relaxation area will complete the setting, creating a comfortable spot for anything from a quick break between runs to a longer moment taking in the view.

The toboggan run linking Courchevel 1850 and Courchevel Village takes on a new atmosphere with Fera Lumia, a new themed experience inspired by Courchevel's distinctive elegance.
Through the forest, lighting effects highlight the curves of the run and follow the movement, bringing a new intensity to the descent.
The experience highlights precision, fluid movement and the scenery itself.

The result: a more comfortable, smoother descent, better suited to skiers using this sector.

For winter 2026-2027, the Méribel-Mottaret Snowpark is getting a new visual identity and redesigned signage.

RENOVATION OF THE TRUITE SNOWMAKING NETWORK
In spring 2026, Méribel Alpina began renovating the snowmaking network on the Truite run, an important link between Méribel-Mottaret and Méribel.
This modernisation will improve snow coverage on this green run, which is particularly useful for beginner skiers.
It also aims to improve the energy efficiency of the facilities and the management of water resources.
The water intake supplying the network will also be renovated, with particular attention paid to the natural flow of the watercourse and biodiversity.

NEW SERVICES IN THE HEART OF LA CHAUDANNE
This year, Méribel Alpina is building a new toilet facility in the heart of the Chaudanne plateau to improve comfort for skiers and families.
Designed to make a day on the slopes easier, the new facility will provide modern, comfortable toilets suited to visitors' needs.

In Les Menuires, the Pelvoux toboggan area, located on the La Croisette snow front, is getting a new visual identity.

A NEW BEGINNER AREA AT THE TOP OF ROC 1
At the top of the Roc 1 gondola, a new beginner area welcomes skiers taking their first steps on the snow.
Designed for those first descents, this safe area allows beginners to build confidence and progress in a simple, accessible environment.
A free-to-use magic carpet allows beginners to get back up the slope easily.
Skiers can practise again and again at their own pace.
The aim: to learn the basics of skiing, progress gradually and become more independent.

A NEW AUTONOMOUS DRONE FOR MONITORING THE SKI AREA
Following an initial trial in the Lac du Lou sector, a second autonomous drone is being installed in Val Thorens.
Operated remotely, the drone can:
monitor a large, frequently used off-piste area;
support teams with monitoring, safety and rescue operations.

STRIKE A POSE ON THE PEYRON CHAIRLIFT
This winter, a new photo system is being introduced on the Peyron chairlift in Orelle. A few seconds before reaching the top, skiers are automatically photographed.
The photo can be collected free of charge from a terminal at the chairlift exit.
It can be retrieved using a ski pass or an email address.
A simple way to keep and share a souvenir of your time in Orelle, with family or friends.

LA TRACE DU LOUP, A NEW SKI TOURING ROUTE IN ORELLE
With La Trace du Loup, Orelle is introducing a new ski touring route for intermediate skiers.
The route offers a different way to experience the mountains, at your own pace, in quieter surroundings and surrounded by wide-open spaces.
Around 650 metres of positive vertical gain.
Around 2 hours 30 minutes of effort.
The aim: to offer a new experience for those who enjoy gaining altitude, taking in the silence of the mountains and discovering Orelle in a different way, on skis.

At the 5-star K2 Altitude, L'Altitude restaurant has been awarded its first Michelin star, reaffirming Courchevel's place among the Alps' leading gastronomic destinations.
Led by chefs Guillaume Duchemin and Davide Sessa, the restaurant reinterprets traditional French cuisine with a contemporary approach.
Precise seasoning, indulgent sauces and exceptional produce shape the menu.
Great classics are reinterpreted while remaining true to the identity of French cuisine.
The desserts continue this approach, celebrating French cuisine that is both rooted in history and very much alive.

In place of La Folie Douce's former self-service restaurant, Cucucina will open as a new 150-seat Italian restaurant, designed by JMV Ressorts.

On the La Chaudanne snow front, NOMAD Méribel will open as an evolving venue designed to be enjoyed from morning through to evening.
The atmosphere changes throughout the day:
In the morning, breakfast and hot drinks before the first runs.
At lunchtime, carefully prepared food in a warm atmosphere inspired by the world of the tipi.
From 5 pm, lively après-ski with a DJ, light shows, entertainment, cocktails and an ice bar.
In the evening, a festive restaurant with live music, DJ sets and an increasingly lively atmosphere as the evening unfolds.

MAISON LAPIAZ, A NEW MOUNTAIN RESTAURANT IN MÉRIBEL-MOTTARET
In Méribel-Mottaret, Maison LAPIAZ will open on 12 December 2026 at the foot of the slopes, in the former La Spatule restaurant.
Led by Isaac Fleury and chef Antoine Jourdy, this new restaurant will offer two different experiences throughout the day:
At lunchtime, street food to eat in or take away.
In the evening, bistronomic dishes designed for sharing.
A short menu made entirely in-house, inspired by cuisines from around the world.

LE BOUCHON ALPIN, A NEW LYONNAIS AND SAVOYARD RESTAURANT
Following a complete renovation, Le Bouchon Alpin replaces La Ferme de Rosalie in Val Thorens.
Inspired by the traditional bouchons of Lyon, the restaurant will bring together specialities from Lyon and Savoie, from traditional Lyonnais recipes to Savoyard fondues.
The restaurant will be managed by Jérémy, who spent thirteen years at Chalet de la Marine.
Open from lunchtime through to après-ski, it will welcome holidaymakers, locals and seasonal workers in a convivial atmosphere.
A shop selling local products to take away may also be added to the offering.

ZIG ZAG CAFÉ, VAL THORENS' FIRST COFFEE SHOP
Already established in Les Menuires, Zig Zag Café is opening a second location in Val Thorens, becoming the resort's first coffee shop.
Open throughout the day, it will serve:
speciality coffees, lattes, matcha and chai;
homemade sweet treats including cookies, cakes and Liège waffles;
savoury options including bagels, toasted sandwiches and soup of the day.

2030 WINTER OLYMPIC GAMES – FRENCH ALPS
After hosting the ski jumping and Nordic combined events at the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympics, Courchevel will return to the Olympic stage in 2030.
The resort will host at least 9 Olympic events, including the men’s and women’s alpine skiing speed events, downhill and super-G, as well as several men’s, women’s and team ski jumping competitions, held around the Olympic ski jumps in Le Praz.

MÉRIBEL ESF TURNS 80: AN EXTRAORDINARY TORCHLIGHT DESCENT
Méribel’s French Ski School (ESF) will celebrate its 80th anniversary during winter 2026/2027, with a series of highlights throughout the season.
Among them, a spectacular torchlight descent will bring together ski instructors and skiers across some of the resort’s most iconic areas.
This anniversary will celebrate eight decades of teaching, sharing expertise and passion for skiing, all of which have helped make Méribel one of the leading winter sports destinations.

THE CHALLENGE DES MONITEURS RETURNS TO MÉRIBEL
From 12 to 17 April 2027, Méribel will host the 75th Challenge des Moniteurs, an event with a special place in the resort’s history.
The very first Challenge des Moniteurs was held in Méribel in 1951. Since then, the resort has hosted the event on four occasions, in 1961, 1987, 2000 and 2006.

LES MENUIRES – COMPLÈTEMENT À LA MASSE
On 20 March 2027, Complètement à la Masse returns to Les Menuires. From Pointe de la Masse at 2,804 m down to La Croisette, participants take on more than 5 km of challenges, with obstacles, entertainment and fun challenges along the way.
Open to skiers, snowboarders and snowsports enthusiasts, the event features several formats, for individuals and teams, in a fun and friendly sporting atmosphere.

YOGISKI WEEK
From 4 to 9 April 2027, Yogiski Week returns to Les Menuires for a week dedicated to wellbeing in the mountains.
Sunrise yoga at 2,800 m, cold yoga, yoga hikes, sound baths, Ayurveda, Tai Chi, reflexology and candlelit yin yoga are all on the programme for this new edition.

BELLEVILLE LIGHT TOUR, NIGHT-TIME SKI MOUNTAINEERING
28 JANUARY & 10 MARCH
The Belleville Light Tour makes its debut this winter with two events: 28 January in Les Menuires, followed by 10 March in Saint-Martin-de-Belleville.
Organised by the Club des Sports des Menuires, this new night-time ski mountaineering race is open to beginners and experienced skiers alike, with the option to compete individually or as part of a relay team.
On an illuminated course, participants will tackle ascents, descents, sections carrying their skis and skin transitions, equipped with head torches and LED sticks as spectators cheer them on.
After the race, a tartiflette party will keep the evening going in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

VAL THORENS – FIS SKI CROSS WORLD CUP
Late December 2026
Val Thorens will host another stage of the FIS Ski Cross World Cup at the Jean-Frédéric Chapuis stadium.
The world’s best ski cross athletes will battle it out on a course packed with rollers, banked turns and jumps, where speed, overtaking and strategy make all the difference. A major early-season event in Val Thorens.
VAL THORENS – FREERIDE WORLD TOUR
From 25 to 30 January 2027
The Freeride World Tour returns to Val Thorens, the highest resort in Les 3 Vallées. From 25 to 30 January 2027, the world’s best freeride skiers and snowboarders will compete on a high-mountain face selected according to snow conditions.
Technical skill, creativity and commitment will all come into play during this French stage of the world tour, with each run judged on line choice, fluidity, control, jumps and tricks. A unique spectacle to experience in the heart of the mountains, either in person or via the official Freeride World Tour live stream.
CARON 3200 TAKES YOU TO THE SUMMIT… OF EVEREST!

At 3,200 metres above sea level, Caron 3200 brings you a new virtual reality adventure this winter: climbing Everest.
From the opening of Val Thorens and Orelle on 21 November 2026, be among the first to discover this new Eclipso experience.
After the Colosseum and the Titanic, it’s time to head for the Himalayas. Put on your VR headset, immerse yourself in the landscapes of Everest and experience the different stages of an ascent to the roof of the world.
A striking experience within an experience: virtually reaching the summit of Everest from Cime Caron, at an altitude of 3,200 metres.

L’ÉCHO: A NEW CULTURAL CENTRE IN LES ALLUES
In Les Allues, the former presbytery is being transformed into L’Écho, a new cultural venue open all year round.
This landmark building will house:
A 100 m² municipal library;
A museum dedicated to the valley’s history and identity;
A meeting place for residents and visitors alike.
From the village’s farming roots to the rise of the ski resort, L’Écho will tell Méribel’s story in a new way, through a venue designed to pass on, share and preserve the valley’s living memory.
80 Years of Courchevel
COURCHEVEL 80: A SPECTACULAR EVENING TO LAUNCH THE CELEBRATIONS
On 4 December 2026, the opening day of the season, Courchevel will launch its 80th anniversary celebrations with a spectacular evening at the Forum ice rink, bringing together local residents, athletes, associations and institutional partners.
An evening inspired by major international ceremonies, combining artistic creations, live performances and immersive staging.
A tribute to 80 years of history, from the pioneers of the Alpine pastures to the creation of S3V, accompanied by a screening of the anniversary film produced by the Night Session agency.
An exclusive preview of the Courchevel 80 commemorative book, published by Éditions de La Martinière, as well as the intergenerational game Super Game.
A forward-looking event taking place less than four years before the French Alps 2030 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

To mark its 80th anniversary, S3V is producing a 52-minute documentary with Montagne TV, telling the story of the company and the women and men who bring the ski area to life.
The film will follow three main themes:
The past, exploring the creation of S3V, its pioneers and its first major milestones;
The present, showcasing winter and summer roles, the teams and their technical expertise;
The future, focusing on environmental commitments, innovation and climate challenges.
The documentary will be accompanied by eight short episodes exploring the main areas of work and the commitments that shape S3V today.
