For its specific assessment of the size of Les 3 Vallées, Skiresort takes into account 600 km of slopes, 50 km of marked ski routes, a 2,130-metre vertical difference between the lowest and highest points in the ski area, and 159 ski lifts. National certification – Courchevel and its villages

Courchevel has held Famille Plus certification since 2010. This national certification recognises destinations committed to providing facilities and services tailored to families and children. It covers Courchevel and the municipality’s villages, including La Tania.

Assessment criteria

The certification is based on six commitments: a personalised welcome, entertainment for all ages, family-friendly prices, activities for families to enjoy together or separately, convenient local services and special attention for children. Compliance with these commitments is assessed regularly.

Courchevel: Station Verte certification

7 June 2017 – Ecotourism

Courchevel was awarded Station Verte certification on 7 June 2017. This ecotourism certification recognises destinations that offer holidays and leisure activities centred around nature while remaining committed to protecting their environment and providing a high-quality welcome.

Assessment criteria

The criteria cover areas including facilities, services, accessibility, the promotion of local heritage and outdoor activities. The certification recognises the destination’s commitment to a structured approach to ecotourism.

Courchevel: Qualité Tourisme certification

Courchevel Tourist Office

Courchevel Tourist Office is committed to the Qualité Tourisme scheme, which promotes high standards of visitor welcome, reliable information and the continuous improvement of visitor services.

Assessment criteria

The scheme covers areas including the quality of the welcome, staff availability, the quality of the information provided, consideration of visitor feedback and service monitoring. Qualité Tourisme is gradually being replaced by the Destination d’Excellence scheme, for which Courchevel has announced its intention to apply.

Mountain Riders – 12 December 2024

Méribel was awarded Flocon Vert certification at the ‘two snowflakes’ level on 12 December 2024, following its first application. This recognition forms part of the Méribel 2038 initiative, which addresses the destination’s environmental, social and economic challenges.

Assessment criteria

The certification assesses areas including governance, the local economy, social and cultural policies, and natural resource management. It recognises a structured regional strategy whose progress is monitored over time.

Snomad – Worldwide: 4.70/5 rating

Méribel won bronze in the ‘Best Resort for Expert Skiers’ category at the 2025 Snomad Ski Resort Awards, with a rating of 4.70 out of 5. This accolade highlights the quality of the skiing available to experts.

Assessment criteria

The ranking is based on verified skier reviews and assesses areas including challenging runs, technical terrain and off-piste opportunities. The 2025 awards were based on more than 140,000 verified ratings.
