The freeride event of the year 2025 in Val Thorens
Val Thorens, the highest ski resort in Europe, will host the 2026 edition of the Freeride World Tour from 24 to 29 January. This will be the second consecutive edition after the circuit’s return in 2025. This iconic freeride event returns in a unique setting, delivering an extraordinary sporting spectacle.
Situated at 2,300 meters above sea level, Val Thorens boasts the perfect location for such a competition. The renowned Cime Caron will be the arena for this event, a peak famous for its technical lines and stunning views. With a start at 3,105 meters and a descent to 2,575 meters, the competitors will face a major challenge: over 500 meters of vertical drop on an average slope of 32 degrees.
This French stage of the Freeride World Tour is one of a kind: the athletes will tackle steep lines, ridges, and couloirs, providing a fast and technical descent. The open terrain, combined with narrower sections, will push riders to their physical and technical limits.
This Val Thorens Pro, a new addition to the circuit, is set to become a must-see competition in the freeride world. Located in the heart of Les 3 Vallées, Val Thorens stands out with its electric atmosphere, promising to thrill both athletes and spectators.

The competition takes place over one day (date and face announced 48 hours in advance depending on weather conditions).
Friday 23 January 2026
6.00pm : FWT Val Thorens Pro Opening Ceremony (athlete presentations, autograph sessions, entertainment, fireworks). Welcome drink by Alpina Watches (limited availability, adults only).
From 6.30pm : Supermassive concert – Place Péclet (free access).
From Friday 23 to Sunday 25 January 2026
9.00am to 4.00pm : FWT Val Thorens Pro ski test – Place Caron (free test, ID required, last departure at 3pm).
3.00pm to 7.00pm : Official FWT Val Thorens Pro village – Place Péclet (DJ sets, entertainment, bar & food trucks).
Competition day (date announced 48 hours in advance)
From 8.00am : Competition + spectator village at the foot of the face – Place Péclet (giant screen, on-site bar).
2.00pm : Podium ceremony at the foot of the face – Flower Ceremony.
4.00pm : Official podium ceremony at the FWT village – Place Péclet.
From 11.00pm : Official FWT Val Thorens Pro party – Malaysia Club.
