A one-of-a-kind trail experience to be fully embraced

Running the Grand Raid des 3 Vallées – Moûtiers means stepping into a whole new dimension.

Depending on your chosen race, your adventure may begin in the valley floor, in Moûtiers for the Ultra Trail des 3 Vallées, or in Brides-les-Bains for the Étoilée des Thermes. Or it may begin on one of Les 3 Vallées’ iconic summits, such as Cime Caron for the Odyssée de Caron, or Pointe de la Masse for the race known as the Défi de la Masse.

The 170 km race sets off from Moûtiers, the meeting point of Les 3 Vallées, offering full immersion across the entire area. Runners starting from other locations join the Ultra route along the way.

12,000 metres of ascent. Altitude. Verticality.
A complete physical and mental challenge, matching the scale of the Alpine terrain.

After crossing the Col du Châtelard, the preserved Deux Nants valley opens up, revealing the Nant Brun refuge, unspoilt alpine pastures untouched by ski lifts, and a landscape where chamois and golden eagles roam.

Back
pack

A few basics you should always have with you:

Water, even for a short run because at altitude you become dehydrated faster than on lower ground.

A windbreaker and a neck warmer because it can get windy at the summits.

A t-shirt for changing at the top of the climb.

A survival blanket: in case of any problems or sudden changes in temperature, it’s really good for keeping you warm and doesn’t add anything to the weight of your bag.

A mobile phone so you can contact someone in an emergency.

A little snack or cereal bar to replenish your energy levels.

Now all you need to do is lace up your shoes and choose your route.
The Grand Raid Kiprun 3 Vallées – Moûtiers awaits you for one of the Alps’ most breathtaking trail adventures.
