Why travel via Moûtiers?

Moûtiers is the closest town to the resorts of Les 3 Vallées.
From here, you can connect to services for Courchevel, Méribel, Brides-les-Bains and the Belleville Valley.

A transfer without any vehicle changes from your arrival airport to your resort means you won't need to change at Moûtiers.

Routes, flight days and the London airports served vary by season. This list is not exhaustive: check outbound and return flights for your travel dates.

Which airport should you choose when travelling to Les 3 Vallées from the UK?

Compare your flight and onward connections together. Consider your landing time, how long you'll wait for your transfer and when you'll arrive at your resort. Allow time to collect your luggage too.

A closer airport doesn't always mean a quicker journey.

At Chambéry, book your taxi in advance. At Grenoble, check which days shuttle services operate to your ski resort.

Which airport transfer should you book?

Find your arrival airport below. Transfer options differ between Chambéry, Grenoble, Geneva and Lyon. Search using your resort as your final destination, then check any connections and your arrival stop.

Chambéry Savoie Mont Blanc

From Chambéry: taxi or private transfer

Chambéry is worth considering because of its proximity to the resorts. Book your road transfer before travelling, specifying your resort or accommodation as your destination.

Taxi: the airport lists the Airport Taxis association.

Private transfer: request a quote for your group and confirm that you can be dropped off at your accommodation.

Package holiday: check whether your transfer is included.

The airport is not served by public transport. Don't assume you can catch a public bus from the airport without checking first.

Grenoble Alpes Isère

From Grenoble: coach transfers to Moûtiers and selected resorts

Ben's Bus offers transfers to Moûtiers and selected resorts in Les 3 Vallées. Check which services operate on the day of your flight.

Saint-Martin-de-Belleville, Les Menuires or Val Thorens: look for a transfer to your resort, depending on the day and available services.

Méribel or Courchevel: search for Grenoble Airport → Moûtiers, then continue by bus or transfer to your resort.

Services to Moûtiers: Saturdays and selected Sundays during the winter season.

A taxi or private transfer can also be booked if the shuttle timetable doesn't suit your journey.

Geneva or Lyon Saint-Exupéry

From Geneva or Lyon: coach to Moûtiers or directly to your resort

From either airport, look for a direct service to your resort. Depending on the service, you may travel straight to your designated stop or change vehicles at Moûtiers.

Altibus: coach tickets from Geneva and the LYS'Express service from Lyon.

Ben's Bus: shared transfers to Moûtiers and selected resorts. Destinations and operating days vary by airport.

Things to check: whether you need to change at Moûtiers, your connection time and your final stop.

A taxi or private transfer can also be booked if the shuttle timetable doesn't suit your journey.

A ticket to your resort doesn't always mean a journey without connections. Check the full route before booking. A shared transfer may also make several stops without requiring you to change vehicles.

For a private transfer, provide your flight details, number of passengers, luggage requirements and accommodation address when requesting a quote.

Which bus should you take from Moûtiers to your resort?

The bus station is just outside the SNCF railway station, on the same site. Find your destination in the table, then check the timetable and stops for your route.

Choose the stop closest to your accommodation, not just the name of your resort. Ask your hotel or accommodation provider which stop to select and how to complete the final part of your journey.

If you'd prefer to be dropped off directly at your accommodation, you can also book a taxi or private transfer from Moûtiers.

For Orelle, travel via the Maurienne Valley

Don't plan to change at Moûtiers when travelling to Orelle. Look for a journey to Saint-Michel-de-Maurienne or book a private transfer directly to Orelle.

Saint-Michel-de-Maurienne → Bus S42 → Orelle gondola lift

Bus route S42 connects Saint-Michel-de-Maurienne bus station with the Orelle gondola lift. Check the operating dates and, if you're staying locally, how to get from the bus stop to your accommodation.

Driving from the UK

After crossing the Channel, continue towards the Alps. To reach Courchevel, Méribel, Brides-les-Bains and the Belleville Valley, travel via Moûtiers on the RN90, then follow the road to your resort.

For Orelle, plan your route through the Maurienne Valley. Before setting off, check road conditions, compulsory winter driving equipment and parking arrangements at your accommodation.

Five things to check before booking

Dates and times. Make sure your flight or train allows enough time to catch your onward transfer, both on arrival and departure.

Connections. Identify where you need to change and how much time you have between services.

Your arrival stop. Check how close it is to your accommodation and whether you'll need another connection.

Luggage and skis. Check each operator's baggage policy and add any necessary equipment to your booking.

The key is to plan your entire journey to your accommodation, not just book a ticket to the airport or railway station.
