Les 3 vallées
Skiing + Cycling: Les 3 Vallées, all year round!
At the end of the winter season (late April, early May) when the weather is milder, a new mix of outdoor activities for discovering Les 3 Vallées comes out to play!
Les 3 Vallées isn’t just the world’s largest ski area, it’s also one of the largest mountain biking areas. What better way to combine the two to appreciate the ski area from the best possible angle than on the saddle of your bike, and on skis!
Showing off these fabulous locations and unveiling the stunning Alpine landscapes and panoramic views available at this time of year, in a fi lm relaying their adventures – that was the challenge accepted by a group of enthusiastic Les 3 Vallées riders: Timy Theaux, Flo Arthus, Jeremy Prevost, Kevin Guri, Arthur Bertrand, Fabien Maierhofer & Victor Galuchot.
Driven by a simple urge to show the world the extent of the riding options and the beauty of the mountains on off er in Les 3 Vallées, they came up with a simple, efficient concept: use e-mountain bikes to get to the ski area, linking 5 legendary couloirs, that they then ski down.
To sum up: cross Les 3 Vallées, in 6 stage, over 2 weeks. Why does this particular combination work? Because bicycles and skis provide an exciting, harmonious experience: the ski area’s most beautiful couloirs off er optimal conditions in early spring but are often tricky to access. Electrically assisted mountain bikes allow you to get between these stunning areas easily and quickly out of season (spring and autumn).
Equipped with drones and cameras, the riders will share their contemplative sports adventure in their film “Sk’e bike” which will be released at the High Five Festival (5-6- 7 of October in Annecy, Haute-Savoie), screened at other autumn festivals, and made available online later in the season.
